Creating an Audio File with two Source Files

 1.   Open the AudioConverter by double-clicking its icon, for example.
 2.   Select the type of announcement or music on hold (MOH).
    You can choose between:
   •  HiPath OpenOffice ME Music On Hold File (MOH)
     (maximum length 85 seconds)
   •  HiPath OpenOffice ME/3000 EVM Announement memory optimized
     (maximum length 3 minutes)
   •  HiPath OpenOffice ME/3000 EVM Announcement HiQuality
     (maximum length 3 minutes)
 3.   Click next.
 4.   Click Two Source Files (Mixing). Two input fields for entering the desired files appear.
 5.   Enter the desired file in .wav format in the Main Source (Channel 1): field. Channel 1 sets the total length of the recording duration.
 6.   Enter the desired file in .wav format in the Secondary Source (Channel 2): field.
 7.   Click next.
A window appears in which the individual internal processing steps are listed one after the other. You can see the steps performed, but cannot take any action.
 8.   In the next window, Preprocessing and Cutting, use the slider to set the required playback duration for the first file (main source, channel 1). The times are displayed in seconds.
 9.   Then define the duration for the voice announcement for the second file (secondary source, channel 2) as well in the window. The times are likewise displayed in seconds.
 10.   Listen to your music by pressing the Play key in the Test field.
 11.   Click next.
 12.   In the Volume and Mixing window, use the slider to set the volume for the main source and the secondary source. The set value is displayed in decibels.
 13.   Under Mixing, select the Channel 2 Delay in seconds.
Channel 1 usually contains the music piece to be played, and channel 2 the desired voice announcement, which is played after a delay. Channel 2 should always be shorter than channel 1.
Two options are available for specifying the delay:
a) You can enter value for the delay directly under Edit. In this case, the delay can only be set in increments of full seconds. Alternatively,
b) press the Only Channel 2 key during the playback of channel 1.
   •  Enable the check box Only Channel 1. With this check box you specify that only channel 1 should be played on pressing the Play key.
   •  Now press the Play key to play channel 1.
   •  Click the Mark Start of Channel 2 key (during the playback of channel 1) to specify the start of the voice announcement (channel 2).
You can also do this by setting a value. However, the smallest increment is then always 1 second, whereas with the key, even fractional values such as 1.5 seconds are possible.
If the delay and the duration of channel 2 are longer than the duration of channel 1, then an error message will appear for case (a), or the Start Channel 2 pressed for case (b) will be ignored.
 14.   Test the result by clearing the Only Channel 1 check box and then pressing the Play key.
 15.   Under Mixing, select the Level Reduction on Channel 1 as a percentage value.
This will reduce the volume of background music on channel 1 by the specified percentage value while playing the voice announcement of channel 2. Reducing the volume by 100 percent causes channel 1 to be to be fully suppressed.
 16.   Click next.
 17.   Now define a name (file.bin or file.wav) and a folder for storing the edited track.
The generation takes a few seconds and is followed by a message confirming the success of the operation.
 18.   Click Close.
